Another “Midnight Express” project involving RM110 millions by Abdullah Badawi’s administration!
During the Ijok by-election in 2006, YB Datuk Seri Najib, the Deputy Prime Minister, launched a housing project of 1,117 units of Double-Storey Terrace Low Cost Houses and 2,500 units of Low Cost Flats, reviving an abandoned one. At the ground breaking ceremony, the DPM also promised the people of Ijok that the said project will be awarded through Open Tender in order to ensure that prices of the houses will be kept as low as possible.
But on 24 April 2007, the Ministry of Finance under Abdullah Badawi quietly issued a Letter of Intent contrary to the said announcement by the DPM. The extract of the said Letter of Intent is as follows:
